Did you know that famous people buy not only islands, but also the whole town? An entire town was bought in 1989, for example, by actress and former model Kim Basinger, who became the owner of most of the land in Braselton in Georgia in the United States. She paid about 20 million dollars. The actress had decided to turn the city’s farmland into a tourist attraction and film studio, but the land was later sold at auction due to her bankruptcy.
