According to the prestigious journal The Economist, the current economic crisis caused by coronavirus will make some large multinational companies even stronger
Big tech companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, Apple or Alphabet (Google), are growing even stronger. The current pandemic more or less supports their positions. As more and more people are forced to stay at home, they mainly rely on products of these tech companies.
Similarly, it concerns buying habits. As buying is shifting to the internet, online shopping has grown in huge numbers, usually seen before Christmas. Customer migration to the internet is good news for Amazon and similar e-commerce companies.
Just after big tech companies, pharmaceutical firms follow with secured market positions. Market value of these companies successfully working on a coronavirus vaccine, or a vaccine to already infected, has been growing in last weeks. Yet, the decisive power will depend on pharmaceutical producers in the end. The Economist analysts predict the worst future to transportation companies, airlines being affected to most, and leisure sector companies.
